It is widely presumed that someone who drinks alcohol on a regular basis is somewhat unhealthy and will most likely have a shorter life because of it. According to the University of Texas at Austin and Stanford University, that assumption is drastically wrong, which in the very least makes drinking alcohol feel a little better for many.

This incredible conclusion was made on the basis that moderate drinking significantly lowers stress which is potentially even more harmful to the human body.  Stress has been connected to more severe health concerns and general dissatisfaction.  Dr. Larry Nadig argues compellingly that stress is directly linked to people's health.  People with high stress levels, he argues, have many more difficulties with deteriorating health.

Everyday millions of people around the world wake up, yawn, commute to work, and sit in an awkward chair for eight hours.  Our bodies, however, were not designed to be fixed in a sitting position all day long.  This kind of activity (or lack thereof) amounts to contorting the human body in an extremely abnormal way all day long.

People who spend their working life in offices are at the highest risk of any demographic group to experience chronic stress and back pain. The reason for these awful data is down to the poorly designed office furniture which plagues businesses around the world.

Professionals have begun to speak out with regards to the numerous health costs, both mental and physical, of treating ones' body this way.  The British Chiropractic Association, for example, issues numerous statements every year motivating companies to invest in ergodymanic chairs and other furniture that places the body in healthier positions.

All of this stress, back pain, and dissatisfaction are bad for both businesses and those employed by them.  The disadvantages for employees are self-explanatory.  For businesses it is a little less obvious.

Not only are stressed out employees generally less productive, they also are more prone to missing work for health reasons.  Firms in countries like the United States, that do not have nationalized health care might have to provide more expensive health insurance if their employees have a higher number of health issues due to high levels of stress caused by uncomfortable business office furniture.

The lesson here is clear.  Companies should realize that purchasing some high quality glass office desks or glass office tables, for example, will pay for itself in the long run.
